About the Playschool:
The Chestermere
Community Playschool is located on the second floor of
the complex. It is a non-profit, interracial, and
non-sectarian association. The purpose of the Playschool
program is to provide half-day nursery school for three
and four year old children from Chestermere and the
surrounding area.
The playschool classes
are conducted from 9:30am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 3:30pm,
Monday through Thursday. Children attend two days per
week, for a nominal fee, September through June. The
playschool is licensed through Social Services, and run
by a volunteer Parent Executive Board.
Chestermere Playschool
is a happy school where appropriate play experiences
contribute to the physical, social, emotional,
intellectual and artistic development of the young
child. The meaningful curriculum with learning centres
and motivation activities build important foundations
for future reading skills and other academic pursuits.
Our professional staff were selected for their early
childhood educational background and their sensitivity
to the individual needs of the young child. Parent
participation is mandatory, and helps increase parents'
knowledge of child growth and development.
